2013 Douglass Alumni Get-Together Times and Events

Here is the schedule of events for the much-anticipated 2013 Douglass School Alumni Get-Together.

All alumni members, families and friends are encouraged to please come home for fellowship, fun and family.




FRIDAY, JULY 5TH

4 PM to 7 PM:  The Riverview Resident Association Block Party, a pre-event of Funfest, Kingsport, will be held in the Riverview Community Room, Wheatley Street entrance, Riverview.  (no alcohol).







5 PM to 12 AM:  The Douglass Alumni MEET-AND-GREET registration and hors d'oeuvres will be held in the Douglass Community  Room, V.O. Dobbins Sr. Complex, 301 Louis Street, Riverview (no alcohol).  There will be a registration table for Sons and Daughters of Douglass alumni members to pay annual alumni dues.  The dues are $25 dollars a year, and each alumni who registers, will receive a membership card that is valid to next July.








7 PM to 12 AM:  A side event of the Meet-and-Greet event will be held at the Marriott-Meadowview Hotel, Reservoir Road, Kingsport.  See Bert Webb for details.  BYOB.












SATURDAY, JULY 6TH

9 AM to 3 PM:  The Douglass Alumni FIELD DAY event will be held in the Douglass Ball Field, 301 Louis Street, Riverview, with vendors, tents, fun and games.  (no alcohol)











3 PM to 4 PM (approx):  The Douglass Alumni BUSINESS MEETING will be held  the Douglass Community Room, V.O. Dobbins Sr. Complex.  All alumni are asked to attend this meeting, to nominate, vote for, and elect new Sons and Daughters of Douglass Executive Board members, and discuss other important matters before the alumni body.  The registration table for membership in the Sons and Daughters of Douglass Alumni Association will also be available at this meeting.







5 PM to 12 AM:  The Douglass Alumni Get-Together continues with more meeting-and-greeting in the Douglass Community Room with free refreshments provided (no alchohol).













6 PM to 12 AM:  The Ebony Club's annual Black & White Dance will be held at the Farmers Market, Clinchfield Street, Kingsport.  The admission is $10, for people 21 years and older.  Cocktail hours begin at 7 PM with a stir fry cafe.  The show band will be Free Flow from Asheville, N.C.  Black and white attire.  Visitors are encouraged to bring food and drinks.










7 PM to 12 AM:  The Meadowview part of the Meeting and Greeting continues at the Marriott-Meadowview. ( BYOB)

















SUNDAY, JULY 7TH

11 AM to 1 PM:  Church of your choice

3 PM to 4 PM:  The Douglass Alumni MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held in the Douglass Community Room, V.O. Dobbins Sr. Complex, 301 Louis Street, Riverview.










4 PM - :   The POST-GET TOGETHER event will be held at O'Charley's Restaurant, 1920 N. Eastman Road, Kingsport
